I live in Canada and Universal Health Care has many drawbacks. - doctor shortages, long waits at emergency rooms, longer waits for surgery or special care. this list is huge. But, I guess it is better than loosing your house. or is it?
Could end uplike Canada, all their good doctors came here to make more money. So yes they have healthcare, but it is inferior to the private sector
Universal Health Care is like nuking your neighborhood because someone left a pile of garbage accumulate and the flies are everywhere. It never addresses the real issues. "The cheapest insurance is self insurance. " Why pay others to process a payment that, with a little planning and foresight, you can pay yourself. A few need a lot of help. Most who think they need help could do a much better job themselves. Universal Health Care makes it easy for people to keep up bad economic habits. The "system" will pick up the pieces. An insurable event, and Universal Health Care is a form of insurance, is one that is unlikely to occur but if it does, it costs are devastating. Most health care does not fit this definition. The costs may be high, like many other things that you may buy, but manageable over time. In the US, if you are a self - pay patient "uninsured", the bill is likely to be reduced 25% - 50% if you pay in a timely fashion. The reason is simple. Your provider saves a bunch by not filing all those forms and waiting for the third party payer to pay up. The PPO or HMO or. that tells your provider what is the proper fee has its costs and also must conduct audits to see if providers are "cheating" because they cannot charge a fair price. The insurer or other third party payer has its costs to add into the premium or tax or. They do not work for free but we need to question the real value of the services rendered. Universal Health Care takes all the compe ion out of this market, meaning those who do these services, now mandated, can keep layering on the costs. All in all, it is the worst possible solution to our health care system
